‘A dumb decision’: Georgia parents giving one-year-old toddler beer caught on video

It has to be one of the most worst parenting moments caught on camera.

A jaw-dropping video out of Georgia is making waves across the internet, showing what many are calling one of the most irresponsible parenting moments caught on camera in recent memory.

According to them allegedly giving beer to their one-year-old child inside a Coweta County restaurant.

Banks gave the child beer while Gregory laughed

According to reports, the footage, recorded at Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom in Fischer Crossing, shows Banks sneaking sips of beer into the toddler’s mouth while Gregory sits beside him, laughing and watching the surroundings to make sure no one is watching.

According to Coweta County deputies, this wasn’t a one-time slip-up—it reportedly happened multiple times that evening.

When confronted by staff and later questioned by authorities, Banks initially denied the accusation. He allegedly told police, “My baby is 1, why the [expletive] would I do that?”

But once investigators reviewed the footage, the story changed. Gregory eventually itted that they weren’t thinking clearly, calling the moment “a dumb decision.”

That off-the-cuff remark has now become the headline heard around the country—and the internet isn’t letting them forget it.

Baby beer boneheads face charges

Banks, 34, is from Hogansville, and Gregory, 30, is from Newnan. Both are now facing charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They’re being held in the Coweta County Jail, and their child has been placed with a relative while Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services (DFACS) investigates further.

This isn’t just about an outrageous video. Medical experts have pointed out that even small amounts of alcohol can be extremely dangerous to a toddler’s developing body. A child that young can suffer from dangerously low blood sugar, drops in blood pressure, and even alcohol poisoning after just a few sips. That’s part of why the public backlash has been so intense.

“They deserve all that is coming to them”

The clip has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread condemnation. People are understandably shocked and angry. The idea of laughing while ing beer to a baby is so far outside the bounds of responsible parenting that it feels almost surreal.

Commenters on TikTok, Facebook, and X have called for strict legal consequences and demanded that DFACS take serious action to ensure the child’s safety.

The restaurant staff, to their credit, acted quickly. They noticed something was off, reviewed the video, and notified law enforcement. Their vigilance likely stopped the situation from getting worse.

Now, all eyes are on what happens next. Court dates are expected soon for Banks and Gregory, and DFACS is continuing its investigation into the family’s home situation. Depending on what’s uncovered, the couple could face long-term restrictions on their parental rights.
